Lost at Sea

A lot of people go through life, wishing they were in a different situation or had a different life but far too often they forget to make the best of where they are. An analogy that I often use is a lighthouse and a boat lost at sea. People can be easily compared to a lighthouse in so many ways. Lighthouses don’t choose where they’re built. They don’t choose which way they shine. And a lighthouse doesn’t choose who can see it.
One thing that can be changed in the lighthouse is how bright it shines. Likewise , a boat can be lost , it can be pushed around by its environment and it can be destroyed by a crashing wave. This is exactly like all of us. When we were born, we don’t choose where we are born, we don’t choose the family we’re born into and we don’t choose the people that see us in life. We can only choose how we act in life. Instead of thinking about where we could be or wishing our lighthouse was built somewhere else, we should make the best of where we are. We should let our light shine bright so those that can see it might build a lighthouse of their own. Far too often, people are way down by negativity and self doubt and this is when someone can get lost at sea.
All we can do in life is live to our fullest. If we live in our best life by being positive, encouraging and being a leader for those who desperately need it, our light will be burning bright, and we will attract boats for miles and miles. We all have lighthouses in our life, people that encourage us and guide us when we need it most. Imagine giving that same kind of encouragement and that brightness to someone else. You have to ask yourself this question “Will you be a tall and powerful lighthouse, or just another boat lost at sea?”
